Fair and free elections are the cornerstone of our democracy. Voters are given the constitutional right to elect representatives of their choosing, from the Office of President all the way down to the local Council, School, or Library Board. Clerks across the nation, whether at the state, county or local level, are tasked with preserving the integrity of the electoral process and safeguarding the “will of the people” – and it is not a job they take lightly!

Members of the public are often surprised to find out about the amount of preparation needed before and after each election to ensure that proper records are kept. Clerks follow a fourteen-page retention schedule set by the State in accordance with many State and Federal laws. This election record-keeping is vital to ensure transparency and integrity, as well as stand up to public scrutiny.

Join us as we delve into the realm of Election Records and discover how votes are protected; light refreshments will be served.

Parking at Kelly Services World HQ is conveniently located on the north side of the building facing Big Beaver Rd. Enter through the doors and check in with security.
